Jansport Luna Pack : Cushioned Comfort

Over the years I’ve had many “unisex” pack straps that slipped off my shoulders easily and dug into my pecs when the pack was fully loaded. I’m glad that Jansport designed the Luna pack especially for women.

This streamlined pack has wonderfully cushioned S-curved shoulder straps stuffed with a dual-density foam internal padding for extreme comfort, designed to contour to a woman's physique.  My pack even has a little plastic “window” in the right strap that gives a peek-a-boo view of the bright red squishy stuff inside that’s keeping my shoulders happy. Of course, it’s a comfortable pack. I’ve been using the Luna pack around town pretty heavily loaded with my laptop, books, e-gear, lotions, and numerous other sometimes excessive things I haul around. No problem!

This pack also has served me well on day hikes in the Cascade foothills outside Seattle. We get plenty of rain around here, so I appreciate that all the seam-sealed zippers have kept things dry inside my pack.  The Luna pack also features multiple big and small compartments and pockets to keep my things organized, so I can keep my pens/lip balm, or other small things separate from books or maps or spare clothing. I especially like the two side zippered side pockets that are perfect for stashing water bottles or hat and gloves for easy access.

Another big plus for me is the shorter torso length designed to fit women better. I’m not a tall person, so the Luna pack fits me well.

Bottom Line: The Luna pack is a good, all-purpose daypack especially well-designed for women.--J. I. (Mar 06)
